The Traveling Arcade, transported and assembled on-site, made its public debut at the Free Range Arcade expo on May 2nd in Bloomington, IN. (https://www.townplanner.com/event/860192/) Despite what the event’s name would make you think, it was the only arcade cabinet there, as most exhibitors were game designers happily showing off their awesome creations. Nonetheless, The Traveling Arcade was a hit, enjoyed by many visitors of all ages, and prompting lots of questions about its construction and hardware. Big thanks to Mr. Bill Ream and everyone else involved in making this inaugural event happen. Hope to see everyone there again…

When starting The Traveling Arcade project, I knew I’d be doing a lot of woodworking and wiring, but I never thought I would spend so much time on the artwork. Ultimately, doing these wacky illustrations proved to be one of the most fun parts of the project, and they really give the cabinet a unique character.
The Traveling Arcade was a long project that required a lot of patience and learning, but it was well worth when I turned on the finished cabinet for the first time and let my kids take it for a test drive.
